Space Frontier features multiple types of weaponry available at your disposal to slay aliens and other players with. The generation of these weapons is similar to the Borderlands series - each weapon you come across is random and has randomised stats - however, they will always scale up to your level.
There are currently six weapon-types, each with varying fighting styles and stats.
- Assault Rifle
- Battle Rifle
- Pump Shotgun
- Auto Shotgun
- Sniper Rifle
- Point Cannon
(Contents is currently broken, Im trying to fix it.) Edit
Assault Rifle Edit
The assault rifle is weapon that is most often the least-damaging of all weapon types, but its unparalleled rate of fire is more than enough to make up for it. Due to this, however, it tends to be quite inaccurate at long-range and therefore short, controlled bursts are sometimes required to hit your target.
Battle Rifle Edit
Battle rifles are slightly similar to assault rifles, but exchange fire rate for increased accuracy and increased impact. On the down side, they usually render low magazine size and sometimes low handling.
Pump Shotgun Edit
The pump shotgun specialises in close-quarter-combat because of its low accuracy and spread. They hit hard up-front, but prove themselves to be near-useless at range. They are, however, usually more precise than auto shotguns.
Auto Shotgun Edit
Auto shotguns work the same way as pump shotguns, except for their automatic fire. Due to this they are sometimes slightly less accurate, so the same fighting style should be adapted.
Sniper Rifle Edit
The sniper rifle's main focus is its incredible accuracy and high impact. In contrast, it most often has a low magazine capacity and a slower rate of fire compared to most guns. It has the longest range of all gun types.
Point Cannon Edit
Point cannons deal huge amounts of damage but are generally inferior in most other categories. Another factor to consider as that they are only able to carry one shot in a magazine at a time. They require a short amount of time to charge up the shot, before releasing a devastating beam of energy capable of hitting more than one target.
Some useful tips:
- With the new perk update in the game, you can make Point Cannons more accurate by using the perk Craftsman. Max the perk Craftsman then you should be able to select which upgrade you want to add.
- Having max Craftsman perk means that you can start adding some customized upgrades. This means that you can modify the gun upgrades instead of getting all the upgrades already added.
- It is good to have a Point Cannon that does high impact. You can get these high-impact Point Cannons by leveling up the faction "Guard". High-impact Point Cannons are also better having modified upgrades such as high accuracy or high handling.
